FEATURED PRINT OFFER
June 2004
Late Winter Forest, Scotland. 2000.
After a speaking engagement north of Edinburgh in 2000, I drove north
on a 5 day excursion wandering through Scotland. The landscape was far
more vertical and rugged than I imagined, and even more beautiful than
I hoped. These trees seemed to be pines, turned fall color, now among
the re-emerging purple deciduous buds of coming spring. I've been fond
of this photograph for some time and this is the first occasion for
making it public.
We're offering an 11x14 inch print, matted to 16x20 and ready to frame
for $195, framed for an additional $75. This print at this price is
offered through June 30. We'll be taking orders until then, and
shipping them out by July 15th.
Each month we offer a signed, original print, at a special price.
This is a great opportunity to own a very affordable fine-art
photograph. Orders are taken for a 30-day period, then printed and
shipped within two weeks after the close. When it's over, it's over.
These prints won't be available again at this price.

* HOPE Workshops
with Stephen Johnson and the Magical Digital Bus
Hands On Photography Events are 6 day experiences, in beautiful
settings, that are designed to give students the opportunity to work
with Steve on a wide range of issues. We'll have plenty of time to
work on everything from the technical and aesthetic challenges of
composing and capturing meaningful images to overcoming the hurdles
involved in producing great prints.
The Magical Digital Bus (http://www.sjphoto.com/Southwest/ebus.html)
provides us with the hands-on tools to work with our images, review
our day's work, and produce fine-art prints.
Workshop tuition includes a variety of equipment that participants
get to keep, including a 200 gigabyte Maxtor hard drive, a Gretag
Eye-One Display, and your choice of an Epson 4000 printer or Wacom
Cintiq LCD Graphic Tablet. We'll provide catered food and bus
service for the participants.

I enjoy listening to my friends lecture. I learn so much. Here are a few
getting around and workflow tips from Dan Burkholder's lecture at The
Creative Edge Conference in Santa Fe. Some of these I had forgotten
since testing days, others I didn't know.
