How many of us have had moments when we were captivated by the sensuous color, line and form of a succulent pepper, eggplant, or cabbage while picking produce from our gardens, at a grocery store, or farmer's market stand? Perhaps you thought about how great it would be to capture the raw beauty in a still life photograph. Here's your opportunity to pursue those aesthetic reactions in a one day studio workshop with Stephen Johnson.

Studio and natural lighting will be explored. You will be working with your own cameras, from iPhones to 4x5, in black and white or color.

The workshop covers composition, design and arrangement, camera settings, ISO, aperture, depth of field (and depth of field expansion), shutter speed, appropriate lenses (macro), tripod usage, studio lighting (studio strobes, flash, natural, continuous).

Bring in your favorite produce or still life models. We will also provide a selection of subjects that pose well and offer opportunities for creative compositions. The San Francisco Farmers Market is open the day before for huge abstract veggie gathering possibilities.

This seminar is designed to help you make stronger photographs by empowering your technique and vision.

As is always the case, Stephen's workshops are full of information and he works to create a relaxed atmosphere where questions are answered, inspiration is at the core, and people return for more.
