Stephen Johnson to Author Innovative Titles for Digital Photography
Boston, MA--Photoshop World--O'Reilly Media, the premier information source for leading-edge consumer technology, has signed an agreement with renowned digital photography pioneer Stephen Johnson to publish two books in the coming year. Planned for release is "With a New Eye: Stephen Johnson's Journey through America's National Parks," an extraordinary chronicle and a beautiful showcase of the first digital landscape project, Johnson's large format digital photographs of 50 national parks--over a decade in the making.
Also planned for release is "Stephen Johnson On Digital Photography," a practical guide from a master photographer that chronicles his own ride on the bleeding edge of digital photography's evolution and explores a wide range of techniques covering the whole spectrum--from the basics to ethics and technological innovations for the future.

"This collaboration dovetails with our strategy to publish the digital media leaders of our time and show how the convergence of technology and art is opening new possibilities that were hardly imaginable ten years ago."
"It is a privilege to be working with such a forward-thinking publisher like O'Reilly," remarks Johnson. "A shared vision about the future of imaging is evolving between us that will help us empower image makers. It will also allow me to share my creative vision in an era where greater veracity and creativity can flourish as art and technology intersect," adds Johnson. "I want to fuse the technical advances, aesthetics, and heart behind capturing an image to record human experience in more fundamental ways than we ever imagined possible."
