Featured Photograph September 2003

About this Month's Original Photograph

Red Hills, Lacy Point. Petrified forest National Park, Arizona. 1995.
11x14 Pigment Print on Rag paper

The eroded hills of the southwest have long been a favorite subject of mine. Their ambiguous scale, sensual form and strange color have all drawn me in repeatedly. Although I was dealing with a very hot day and a slight wind, the photograph seemed to work. This was the second of two photographs I made of these hills. The first, with a looser composition, probably had to be made first, for me to see the simpler design of the scene with no horizon and concentrating in on these particular contours. My good firend Ed Stone was assisting on this trip. This 1995 photograph became one of my early success stories with the national parks project.

We're offering an 11x14 inch print, matted to 16x20 and ready to frame for $195, framed for an additional $75. This print at this price is offered through September 30. We'll be taking orders until then, and shipping them out by October 15th.

About the Program

Each month we offer a signed, original print, at a special price. This is a great opportunity to own a very affordable fine-art photograph. Orders are taken for a 30-day period (this print for 60 days), then printed and shipped within two weeks after the close. When it's over, it's over, these prints won't be available again at this price.
